Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to what people ask us most.

Who is Carry the Ribbon?

Carry the Ribbon is a small nonprofit based in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, founded by John Michael Pollard, Jackson Pollard, and Brilynn Harrell in honor of Brilynn's mother, who passed away from cancer. We're supported by advisor Jamie Pollard.

What does Carry the Ribbon actually do?

Right now, that means community blood drives, care packages for patients at Duke Cancer Center, and seasonal drives like our December teddy bear drive — but our mission is broader than any one program, and we're always adding new ways to help. See our What We Do page for the full, current list.

How can I volunteer?

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes! Carry the Ribbon is an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so your donation is tax-deductible. Email JohnMichael@carrytheribbon.org if you need a receipt for your records.
