Carry the Ribbon began with a loss. Our co-founder Brilynn Harrell lost her mother to cancer, and in the months that followed, grief turned into a question: how could that love be put to use for someone else?
Brilynn brought that question to John Michael Pollard and Jackson Pollard, and together they founded Carry the Ribbon — a nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and families in Edgecombe County who are living with cancer or the grief it leaves behind.
We're a young, small organization, but we show up — through blood drives, care packages for patients at Duke Cancer Center, and new programs as we learn what families need most, all in her honor.
Carry the Ribbon is run by three founders and one very supportive advisor.
Helps lead operations, outreach, and drive planning for Carry the Ribbon.
Helps lead community drives and organization efforts.
Founded Carry the Ribbon in honor of her mother, guiding the mission behind everything we do.
Supports the team with guidance and hands-on help at every drive.
We're always glad to have more hands and hearts carrying the ribbon with us.
